How do I set Microsoft Excel ® to enable macros?
For Excel 2003
- Start Excel.
- Click on the Tools menu.
- Select Macro.
- Select Security.
- Click on Medium (You can choose whether or not to run potentially unsafe macros).
- Click OK, restart Excel and the macros will function.
For Excel 2007
- Start Excel.
- Click on the round Office Button in the top left of the window.
- Click on the Excel Options button near the bottom right.
- Click on the Trust Center button in the left menu.
- Click on the Trust Center Settings button in the lower right section.
- Click on the Macro Setting button in the left menu.
- Click on the Disable all macros with notification. On rare occasions, Excel may still not allow the macros to operate. In this situation, select the Enable All Macros option. Be aware that Microsoft does not recommend this setting ‘as potentially unsafe code can run’. Always ensure that you only load files from trusted sources.
- Click OK twice, restart Excel and the macros will function.
